ABOUT KRISTY
Kristy McInnis is a powerhouse drummer with a reputation for hard-hitting precision, musical versatility, and an unwavering focus on what best serves the song. Growing up in rural Missouri, drumming came naturally to Kristy, a passion passed down from her father, a jazz drummer. She was influenced by ’80s pop radio and the ’90s indie rock scene. She began her music career in Springfield, Missouri, where she drummed for popular punk-pop band the Smarties.
Kristy then moved to Los Angeles, where she met Kathy Valentine (The Go-Go’s) and Dominique Davalos and joined their dynamic 3-piece rock band, the Delphines. She also played drums for indie rock bands EZ Tiger, the Randies, and the Evangenitals while concurrently building a successful career as an unscripted television producer.
Later, Kristy teamed up again with Kathy and Dominique, this time with guitarist Eve Monsees, as part of their Austin-based band, the Bluebonnets. The blues rock group has toured with the Waterboys and Gary Clark Jr, and played at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH. They also joined Texas troubadour, Ray Wylie Hubbard, in the studio on his track, “Only a Fool” on his Co-Starring Too double album. It was a special thrill for Kristy to play on the same record as The Beatles drummer, Ringo Starr. In 2023, Kristy moved to Austin and drummed for the jukebox musical "Head Over Heels" featuring the Go-Go’s music at the Zach Theater. She continues to perform and record with the Bluebonnets, The Living Pins, EZ Tiger, and other artists. She recently teamed up with Dominique to form Electress, a new pop/rock band where she shines as a singer, songwriter, and drummer. And finally, she’s in pre-production for her first indie-pop solo EP, produced by Noelle Hampton, planned for release in 2026.
